Tracking rain showers in Metro Detroit as warmer air pushes into region
TONIGHT:
Scattered showers are moving into Metro Detroit from the southwest. It will be wet and breezy for people leaving late-night establishments or gatherings. As a warmer air mass pushes into Southeast Michigan, lows in the mid 50s have already been reached. Temperatures will gradually rise overnight. Winds will be out of the east and east-southeast around 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
TOMORROW (SATURDAY):
Plan for a wet start to the day on the final day of the NFL Draft in Downtown Detroit. The showers will wind down by mid-morning. Expect some afternoon clearing and sunshine, but a few pop-up showers or thunderstorms will be possible in the afternoon. We may be able to go through the Tigers’ evening game without any rain issues, but another slight chance of showers will come during the late evening. There is a low chance that an isolated storm could have gusty winds, mainly west of US-23. Highs will be in the mid 70s. Winds will be out of the south and south-southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
TOMORROW NIGHT:
It will be mostly cloudy with the chance of a few showers. The chance will be better north and west of Metro Detroit, such as in the Flint area. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
SUNDAY:
It will be mostly cloudy with the chance of a few showers and scattered thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 70s to 80 degrees. The chance of showers will continue into the evening. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
WORKWEEK:
The warm, wet weather will continue into the workweek. Highs will be in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees on Monday, mid 70s for Tuesday through Thursday, and mid 60s on Friday. Showers chances will last through Thursday.
Next Friday’s weather will be slightly cooler, but seasonal. A high-pressure system will influence the weather and give Metro Detroit sunshine and dry weather.
